Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking enthusiastic, motivated students to participate in our 2025 Summer Internship Program. This opportunity is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in a collaborative environment working on projects that support LLNL’s mission in science, technology, and national security. As an LLNL Summer Intern, you will:
- Work on research and development projects that align with LLNL’s strategic goals and areas of expertise.
- Collaborate with LLNL staff and other interns in a team-oriented environment to achieve project objectives.
- Participate in group meetings, including project presentations, technical discussions, and mentorship sessions.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
- Participate in educational and professional development activities offered by LLNL, including workshops, seminars, and networking events.
- Document project results and maintain clear and concise records for future use.

- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited institution.
- Strong academic standing (Minimum GPA requirement may apply).
- Major in a relevant field of study such as Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Eligible to work in the United States; LLNL may support visa applications for highly qualified international students.
- Previous coursework, projects, or experience related to the internship focus area is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory practices, research methodologies, and data analysis techniques is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to understand and apply technical principles and methodologies relevant to the field.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on critical thinking and quantitative reasoning.
