The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is seeking motivated and passionate individuals to apply for its 2025 internship opportunities. Responsibilities

As a ZSL intern, you will be involved in various activities related to animal care, research, and conservation efforts. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Animal Care: Assisting with daily animal welfare routines, feeding, cleaning, and observing animal behavior under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Research Support: Assisting in wildlife research projects, data collection, and analysis, helping to further understanding of species and ecosystems.
  • Conservation Projects: Contributing to conservation efforts through habitat restoration, species protection programs, and fieldwork.
  • Public Engagement: Supporting education programs, delivering talks and demonstrations, and engaging with visitors to raise awareness about conservation issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with professionals from different departments including zoologists, vets, and conservationists to deliver on ZSL’s goals.
  • Administrative Support: Assisting with the organization of events, workshops, and seminars related to zoology and conservation.
Qualifications
  • Currently studying or recently graduated with a degree in zoology, biology, environmental science, animal science, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in wildlife conservation, animal behavior, or environmental education.
  • No prior professional experience required, though relevant coursework or volunteering experience in zoology or conservation is desirable.
Experience
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for animal care, conservation, or environmental education.
  • Volunteer or previous internship experience with animal-related organizations (desirable, but not essential).
  • Experience with data collection or research support (advantageous).
Skills
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with diverse audiences.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
