The Northside Hospital Internship Program offers graduate students (anticipated graduation in 2025) an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in healthcare services, operations, and patient care. Interns will work alongside healthcare professionals, supporting hospital departments and initiatives while developing an understanding of the healthcare industry. This internship is designed to help students build practical skills, foster career development, and contribute meaningfully to Northside Hospital’s mission of providing exceptional patient care.
- Assist in the daily operations of various hospital departments, including patient care, administrative support, and operational management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in providing high-quality care and services to patients.
- Support research, data collection, and analysis projects related to patient outcomes, healthcare trends, and hospital efficiencies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of health programs, patient education materials, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in meetings and discussions related to hospital operations, patient care, and departmental improvements.
- Observe and learn from clinical and non-clinical staff, gaining insight into the functions of hospital systems and processes.
- Assist with patient intake, scheduling, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Help with data management, report generation, and documentation in alignment with hospital procedures.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Graduate student (anticipated graduation in 2025) currently pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Medicine, or a related field.
- Strong academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Interest in healthcare delivery systems, patient care, hospital operations, and healthcare management.
- Available to work full-time during the summer internship period (specific dates will be provided).
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Any relevant coursework, clinical experience, or certification in healthcare fields such as nursing, medical assisting, or health administration is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with hospital management software is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
