The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Summer Internship Programme provides college students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various departments while contributing to the mission of the USOPC. This immersive internship allows students to work with a team of professionals dedicated to supporting Olympic and Paralympic athletes, managing events, enhancing communications, and advancing the organization’s goals. - Assist with Event Planning and Operations: Support the planning and execution of key USOPC events such as team selections, training camps, or community outreach activities.
- Conduct Research and Analysis: Help research emerging trends in sports management, athlete development, and sponsorship, presenting findings to internal teams.
- Content Creation and Social Media: Contribute to social media campaigns and assist in producing content for websites, blogs, and newsletters.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to various teams, including data entry, document preparation, and coordination of meetings and activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, communications, athlete services, and legal to ensure smooth operations.
- Athlete Engagement: Assist in creating opportunities for athlete interaction, including managing events, interviews, or social media engagement.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university (preferably in a related field such as Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or Business).
- Strong academic standing
- Demonstrated interest in sports, Olympic/Paralympic events, and athlete developments
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in sports, event management, or related fields is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exposure to social media platforms, content creation, or digital marketing preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
