Description
The San Diego Airport Internship program for 2025 provides a dynamic opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry. Interns will work alongside industry professionals, supporting various airport operations, customer service, administration, and business functions. This internship is designed to help participants develop their skills and knowledge of airport operations while contributing to the smooth running of San Diego International Airport (SAN).
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations of various airport departments, including customer service, marketing, facilities management, logistics, and more.
- Support airport staff in coordinating and executing airport events and passenger services.
- Aid in data collection, analysis, and reporting on airport performance and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in meetings, briefings, and cross-functional team collaborations.
- Help with customer inquiries and provide information on airport services and amenities.
- Contribute to airport maintenance projects and improve operational efficiency.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and document preparation.
- Assist with the implementation of safety and security procedures at the airport.
- Conduct research on industry trends and assist in preparing reports for management.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in aviation, business administration, hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required, though previous internships, part-time employment, or volunteer experience in customer service, aviation, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience in a customer-facing role is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
