As an Internship Officer, you will:
- Assist in day-to-day policing operations, including patrolling, responding to incidents, and supporting the investigation of crimes.
- Engage with local communities, promoting community engagement, safety, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and preparation of case files.
- Participate in crime prevention and awareness campaigns.
- Attend training sessions and workshops designed to enhance your policing skills and knowledge.
- Assist in maintaining law and order during events, demonstrations, or public gatherings.
- Learn and assist in the use of policing technology and systems.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Criminal Investigation, Crime Prevention, and Public Relations.
- At least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- A minimum of five GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant academic program, such as Criminology, Criminal Justice, Law, or Public Services.
- Full UK driving license (or willingness to obtain one during the apprenticeship).
- A strong interest in law enforcement and community service.
- No prior professional experience is required, though any relevant voluntary work or experience in customer service, security, or community roles is beneficial.
- A strong passion for law enforcement, public safety, and working in a community-based role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the public and colleagues.
- A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and respect for diversity and equality.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Competent with IT systems and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
