- Assist with Software Development: Contribute to the development, testing, and enhancement of FlightAware’s innovative flight tracking software.
- Data Analysis: Work with large datasets, providing meaningful insights into aviation data to improve flight tracking and operational efficiency.
- Project Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional team projects, gaining experience in various aspects of the company’s operations, including product development, engineering, and customer support.
- Research and Development: Support ongoing R&D efforts by researching new technologies and trends within aviation and software development.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations on findings, processes, and solutions developed during the internship.
- Mentorship: Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals, providing opportunities to expand technical and professional skill sets.
- Education: Current student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program related to Computer Science, Engineering, Aviation, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States and available to participate in a full-time internship for the summer of 2025.
- Academic Standing: Strong academic record with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings.
- Previous internships, academic projects, or personal experience with software development, data analysis, or aviation-related technologies is a plus.
- Exposure to tools like Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar programming languages and technologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.), data analysis, and familiarity with aviation systems or technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and present actionable insights.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work through technical challenges independently.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.
