Description

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data related to marine and freshwater ecosystems.
  • Support research projects on sustainable fisheries, water quality monitoring, and marine conservation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, research papers, and presentations.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist in the development of scientific models and tools.
  • Participate in fieldwork and laboratory-based activities, including sampling and data analysis.
  • Support the team in outreach and education activities related to marine and environmental sciences.
  • Collaborate with CEFAS scientists on various ongoing environmental projects.
  • Provide administrative support for project coordination and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in environmental science, marine biology, ecology, fisheries management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in environmental conservation, marine research, and sustainability.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a laboratory, fieldwork, or research-based role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Any volunteer or academic projects related to marine or environmental sciences would be an advantage.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, SPSS) is a plus.
