Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data related to marine and freshwater ecosystems.
- Support research projects on sustainable fisheries, water quality monitoring, and marine conservation.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, research papers, and presentations.
- Conduct literature reviews and assist in the development of scientific models and tools.
- Participate in fieldwork and laboratory-based activities, including sampling and data analysis.
- Support the team in outreach and education activities related to marine and environmental sciences.
- Collaborate with CEFAS scientists on various ongoing environmental projects.
- Provide administrative support for project coordination and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications
- Applicants must be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in environmental science, marine biology, ecology, fisheries management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in environmental conservation, marine research, and sustainability.
Experience
- Previous experience in a laboratory, fieldwork, or research-based role is desirable, but not essential.
- Any volunteer or academic projects related to marine or environmental sciences would be an advantage.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, SPSS) is a plus.
