Description

The DEA Internship Students Trainee Program 2025 is designed to offer students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in law enforcement, drug enforcement operations, and public safety. As an intern, you will work alongside DEA agents and specialists to assist in combating drug trafficking and related crimes. This internship will provide a comprehensive understanding of the DEA’s mission and operations, giving interns a valuable foundation in federal law enforcement, criminal justice, and public policy.

Responsibilities
  • Assist DEA agents and staff in gathering and analyzing intelligence data related to drug trafficking and criminal organizations.
  • Support ongoing investigations through research, report writing, and documentation.
  • Participate in administrative tasks such as organizing case files, maintaining records, and data entry.
  • Observe and learn about drug enforcement operations, including surveillance, raids, and undercover work.
  • Assist with planning and executing community outreach programs related to drug prevention and education.
  • Attend DEA training sessions, workshops, and briefings to better understand law enforcement protocols and procedures.
  • Provide support to DEA professionals during fieldwork and case preparation.
  • Participate in team meetings and assist with strategic planning to address drug-related issues in various communities.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to law enforcement work.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the internship.
  • Strong academic performance in relevant courses.
  • A genuine interest in law enforcement, public safety, and criminal justice.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Experience
  • No prior law enforcement experience is required; however, relevant coursework, volunteer work, or any criminal justice-related internships will be considered advantageous.
  • Experience with research, writing reports, or analysis is a plus.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information securely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with basic research tools.
  • Interest in law enforcement technology and investigative tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
