Description
DTE Energy is excited to offer a Summer Internship opportunity for students and recent graduates in 2025. The internship program provides valuable exposure to the energy industry, allowing participants to work on innovative projects and contribute to the company’s goals. Interns will gain hands-on experience in various departments such as engineering, environmental science, business, IT, and more, while developing essential skills in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to support ongoing projects in areas such as energy systems, sustainability, operations, and business processes.
- Conduct research, data analysis, and generate reports to inform key decisions.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new technologies or solutions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas, providing valuable insights based on academic background and research.
- Create presentations and reports for senior leadership, communicating research results and project status.
- Participate in company training sessions, gaining exposure to DTE’s corporate culture and industry trends.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support day-to-day operations.
- Take part in cross-departmental initiatives to enhance team collaboration and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
- Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required, but relevant academic projects, coursework, or internships are a plus.
- Experience or academic knowledge in the energy sector, utilities, or technology is highly valued.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools or technologies (e.g., Excel, Python, CAD software, etc.) is advantageous.
Skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
