Description
The LaGuardia Airport Internship Program offers college students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aviation and airport operations industry. Interns will work with various airport departments, contributing to projects that enhance airport efficiency, safety, and customer service. This program is designed to develop future leaders in aviation and airport management, giving interns an inside look at the operations of a major international airport.
Responsibilities
- Support daily airport operations by assisting with terminal activities, customer inquiries, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Customer Service, and Safety to streamline processes and improve passenger experiences.
- Conduct research and analysis on airport performance metrics, safety protocols, and service improvements.
- Help coordinate airport events, community engagement initiatives, and public relations activities.
- Attend briefings, safety sessions, and planning meetings to understand airport management and operational strategies.
- Prepare reports and presentations to share findings and recommendations with airport staff and management.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student preferred).
- Majoring in Aviation Management, Business, Public Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Experience
- Previous internship or work experience in aviation, customer service, or hospitality is a plus but not required.
- Relevant academic projects or coursework related to airport operations, aviation, or business administration.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
