The NYC Health + Hospitals Corporation (HHC) Graduate Internship Program provides an invaluable opportunity for recent graduates and advanced students to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare industry within the nation’s largest public health system. This program is tailored to develop future healthcare leaders, offering interns meaningful exposure to hospital administration, clinical support functions, patient care management, data analytics, and community health initiatives. Depending on the department placement, duties may include:
- Assisting with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support strategic initiatives and improve patient care outcomes.
- Contributing to projects in healthcare administration, quality assurance, and patient safety.
- Participating in program planning, community health initiatives, and healthcare outreach.
- Supporting finance, HR, or IT departments in project coordination and process optimization.
- Conducting research and assessments to recommend improvements for hospital policies and procedures.
- Engaging in patient experience initiatives, collecting feedback, and helping to design service improvements.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assist with clinical and operational projects.
- Attending professional development workshops, seminars, and presentations by healthcare leaders.
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a Master’s degree program in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Previous internship or work experience in a healthcare setting, public health, administration, or a related area is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare and a commitment to serving urban and diverse populations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
