The purpose of the internship is to provide participants with hands-on experience in the operations and strategic initiatives of the PSNI. Interns will assist in various departments, gaining valuable knowledge about public service, law enforcement, and community engagement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of community policing programs.
- Support administrative and operational activities within assigned departments.
- Conduct research on crime trends, law enforcement best practices, and community safety initiatives.
- Participate in workshops and training sessions alongside PSNI personnel.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Shadow officers during selected field assignments to gain first-hand exposure to policing activities.
- Collaborate with teams to support ongoing projects, including public safety campaigns.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Criminology, Law, Public Administration, Sociology, or a related field.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Authorization to work or intern in the United Kingdom.
- A clean criminal record and the ability to pass a security clearance check.
- Prior experience in administrative, research, or community service roles is desirable but not essential.
- Exposure to teamwork and collaborative projects is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard software applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
