Description

The purpose of the internship is to provide participants with hands-on experience in the operations and strategic initiatives of the PSNI. Interns will assist in various departments, gaining valuable knowledge about public service, law enforcement, and community engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of community policing programs.
  • Support administrative and operational activities within assigned departments.
  • Conduct research on crime trends, law enforcement best practices, and community safety initiatives.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions alongside PSNI personnel.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Shadow officers during selected field assignments to gain first-hand exposure to policing activities.
  • Collaborate with teams to support ongoing projects, including public safety campaigns.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Criminology, Law, Public Administration, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Authorization to work or intern in the United Kingdom.
  • A clean criminal record and the ability to pass a security clearance check.
Experience
  • Prior experience in administrative, research, or community service roles is desirable but not essential.
  • Exposure to teamwork and collaborative projects is advantageous.
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard software applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, with a willingness to learn.
