Responsibilities

As a Public Health Intern, you will:

  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of public health data to inform policies and programs.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs and campaigns.
  • Participate in research activities, including literature reviews, surveys, and data collection.
  • Collaborate with local health authorities, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

  • Attend and participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to further professional development.
  • Provide administrative support to the public health team as needed
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Applicants must have completed their undergraduate studies no more than 18 months prior to the start date of the internship.
Experience
  • No prior work experience is required. However, any relevant experience, such as volunteer work or academic projects related to public health, will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with public health issues, health systems, and epidemiological principles is preferred.
Skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a keen interest in improving public health.
