The Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) Internship Program 2025 is designed to provide talented students with hands-on experience in the energy industry. - Assist with ongoing projects within your assigned department, including engineering, operations, or corporate functions.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze data, create reports, and solve technical or business challenges.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to brainstorming and problem-solving discussions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on project findings or work completed.
- Support daily operations, including monitoring equipment, reviewing processes, or researching industry trends.
- Conduct research and assist in the development of solutions related to utility systems, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
- Provide administrative support, including organizing files, managing schedules, and other tasks as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and assist with the implementation of safety procedures.
- Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited university or college.
- Must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.), Business, Environmental Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A passion for the energy industry and a desire to learn about utilities and sustainable energy solutions.
- Previous internship experience or related project work is a plus but not required.
- Exposure to engineering, technology, business, or related fields through coursework or extracurricular activities will be considered beneficial.
- Prior involvement in leadership, team collaboration, or community service activities is highly valued.
