Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Assist in the planning and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, contributing to the overall success of operations.
  • Data Analysis: Help analyze performance data and generate reports to identify areas for operational improvement, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Process Improvement: Work on initiatives aimed at improving service delivery, operational processes, and sustainability practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with different departments such as Engineering, Environmental Services, Customer Operations, and Health & Safety to support ongoing projects.
  • Research & Development: Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry best practices to help enhance Yorkshire Water’s services and future strategies.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations in all tasks and projects.
  • Customer-Focused Projects: Assist in the development of strategies and solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and support service excellence.
  • Training & Development: Participate in structured learning opportunities, including mentoring, technical training, and career development workshops.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate (or graduating in 2024/2025).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
Experience
  • No prior professional experience is required; however, any relevant academic projects, internships, or voluntary work will be an advantage.
  • A genuine interest in water management, sustainability, environmental protection, or utilities will be highly valued.
Skills
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently.

  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically and address challenges creatively.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with data analysis tools or software is a plus.
